My goal is to assist children and young people to enhance self-awareness, gaining independence, and achieving more control and freedom from past patterns, reactions, and unwanted behaviours.
My approach offers a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space where a child or the young person can openly talk about issues like anxiety, low self-esteem, emotional control, relationships, parental separation, and bullying.
Counseling is offered for both short-term and long-term needs. Sessions are usually scheduled weekly at the same time and place, lasting 50 minutes each. They can be conducted either in-person or online.
I recognise the challenges children and families face today. My specialised counseling services provide a safe and nurturing space where young individuals can grow and confidently overcome difficulties.
My focus is on building resilience, improving communication, and promoting emotional well-being.
I use a variety of proven therapeutic techniques, tailored to each client's needs. My experience covers issues such as:
I am committed to offering a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, develop coping strategies, and build healthier relationships.
If you're a parent or carer looking for a therapist for your child, I suggest starting with a free 30-minute session over the phone or Zoom/Teams. During this time, we can discuss your child's needs, why you're seeking therapy, and any questions or concerns you have.
We'll also talk about whether online or in-person therapy would be best.
It is also an opportunity to ask me any questions and share any worries you may have. We can discuss if online or face-to-face therapy suits your child best. If you are happy with the process and believe that I may be a good fit for your child, we can arrange a time and day to meet with your child.
For online sessions, I use digital tools like a whiteboard and virtual games.
After the 6th session, I would recommend a review with yourself and your child/adolescent to review how things are going, and what's working and what may not be working. This will be a good opportunity to review how many more sessions we may need/want or if another review may be best at a later stage.
